Biography
Dorothy Gwendolyn Strible was born in Baltimore , [5] and began her acting career with theatrical stage. Her film debut took place in 1911, after which she appeared in more than 150 films. [5] After 1927, Phillips' movie career began to fade, and the actress moved to episodic roles.
Dorothy Phillips was married to actor and director Allen Holubar, with whom she lived together for eleven years, until his death in 1923 from pneumonia at the age of 35 years. Dorothy Phillips herself also died of pneumonia in 1980, at the age of 90. She is buried at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles .
For contribution to the development of the film industry, Dorothy Phillips was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame .
