The Church of the Intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the temple of the Altai Deanery of the Novosibirsk and All Siberia diocese of the Russian Orthodox Old Believer Church , located in the city of Barnaul .

The temple is located in a square at the intersection of Georgi Isakov , 2nd North-West and Pokrovskaya streets [1] in the geographical center of the city of Barnaul (Cheryomushki microdistrict) [2] .
Currently, the Intercession Church is active, belongs to the local religious organization Pokrovskaya Old Believer Community of the city of Barnaul.
Content
History
The rite of the foundation of the temple was performed in May 1996 by His Grace Zosima , Bishop of Chisinau and All Moldova .
The construction of the church actually began in 1998 , from the moment the geology of the land plot was prepared and the subsequent pile driving . During construction, the community continued to conduct services in a wooden house adapted and expanded for prayer [3] .
By 2009, the masonry of the temple walls was completed, the roof was partially blocked. In 2011, domes were made and installed on drums, which were subsequently coated with copper. In the spring of 2014, crosses were consecrated and raised to the domes of the temple [4] . In the summer of 2015, the coating of the outer surface of the walls with a white protective coating was started [5] . In 2016 and 2017, interior decorating was carried out in the temple.
On September 24, 2017, Metropolitan of Moscow and All Russia Cornelius (Titov) headed the rite of the great consecration of the temple [6] [7] .
Architecture
The church was built according to an individual project of the Old Believer temple architect [8] Alexei Afanasevich Sinelnikov [9] .
The church building consists of four pillars with five domes. The temple building has a vestibule , which is adjacent to the tent bell tower with kokoshniks . The walls are made of white stone, carved silicate brick is used .
The style of architecture is in the spirit of Old Russian architecture of the pre-Mongol period . The architecture of the temple is made in the Vladimir-Suzdal style .
