Alexander Davidovich Isaac (born January 23, 1967, Orsk ) is a Russian mathematician, first deputy director of the Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences [1] .

Biography
In 1989 he graduated from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Moscow State University , in 1992 he completed postgraduate studies there (Department of Theory of Functions and Functional Analysis, supervisor - B. S. Kashin ).
Since 1993 he has been working at the Mathematical Institute. V. A. Steklova of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Steklov Mathematical Institute), 1993–2003 - employee of the Information and Publishing Sector, 2003–2011 - head of the Computer Networks and Information Technology Sector, 2011–2013 - head of the Computer Networks and Information Technology Department. From 2012 to 2013 - Scientific Secretary of the Steklov Mathematical Institute. Since 2015 - Deputy Director for Information and Publishing Activities; since June 15, 2015 - First Deputy Director of Steklov Mathematical Institute. Candidate of physico-mathematical sciences (1996), the topic of the dissertation is “The diameters of functional classes and finite-dimensional sets in spaces with a mixed norm” [2] . He also worked in the Computing Center. A. A. Dorodnitsyna RAS , in 2010-2013 - Leading Researcher at the Department of Information Technology.
In 1993, he was the scientific editor of the journal Uspekhi Matematicheskikh Nauk , in 1993–2013, the leading scientific editor of the section “Mathematical Journals” of the Academic Publishing Center “Science” of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
From 2013 to 2014, he was the head of the Department for Coordinating the Activities of Institutions in the Field of Mathematical Sciences and Information Technologies of the Office for the Coordination and Support of Activities of Organizations in the Field of Science of the Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations ( FANO of Russia ), from 2014 to 2015, he was the Deputy Head of the Department for Organization of Scientific Publishing and information activities of the RAS.
Scientific Interests
Research in the field of function theory and functional analysis, information systems, digital libraries. One of the founders of the All-Russian Mathematical Portal .
