Parnassius patricius is a day butterfly of the family Sailboats ( Papilionidae ). One of the smallest species of the genus [1] .

Content
RangeTibetan-Tien Shan endemic , with intermittent habitat. In Kazakhstan, it is found on the ridges of Zailiysky and Kungoy-Ala-Too [1] .
BiologyIt lives on pre-ridge rocky slopes with sparse vegetation and rock outcrops at heights of 2900–4200 m above sea level [2] . The species is found locally and rarely. Butterflies fly in June – August. Feed plants are Corydalis tenella and Cysticorydalis fedtschenkoana (Fumariaceae).
SecurityThe species is listed in the Red Book of Kazakhstan as a "rare species" [3] [1]
