Description
When drawing, you can use brushes, lines, shapes, etc. Filters, such as lightening and darkening, are supported. The program has a large collection of image templates (all under a free license) for use in drawing. Ready templates are inserted through the Stamps menu, and thumbnails of image templates (stamps) appear on the buttons in the right toolbar. For each stamp, you can choose an individual size.
In version 0.9.17, the ability to work with stamps in the vector SVG format is added. You can also add your own coloring books to the program.
The emblem and part of the name of the program is the symbol of the Linux operating system - the Tux penguin. The second component of the name - the word Paint ( / peɪnt / , English “paint with paints”) - indicates that the program belongs to raster graphic editors.
Setup
Tux Paint is configured by the separate tuxpaint-config program. With its help, you can adjust various parameters: screen resolution, full screen mode, sound effects, printing images, closing the program.
