El Moro Canyon orthohantavirus (Eng.) , Formerly El Moro Canyon virus , is a type of virus from the Hantaviridae family of the Bunyavirales order. Hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndrome is the cause of the disease. Along with the Sin Nombre and Prospect Hill viruses, orthohantavirus is also common in North America [4] . In 2017, due to the separation of the Bunyavirales order and the revision of the Hantavirus genus, the name of the species was changed, as in most other taxa related to the order [2] .
