Sergey Oleshnya (born January 30, 1956 , p. Kuleshovka , Rostov Region , RSFSR , USSR ) - Soviet and Russian sculptor , academician of the Russian Academy of Arts (2011) [1] , chairman of the South Regional Branch of the Russian Academy of Arts , honored artist of the Russian Federation (2017 ), Professor of the Department of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture of the Academy of Architecture and Arts of the Southern Federal University .

Biography

He graduated from the sculpture department of the Penza Art School in 1978, subsequently taught in it for 10 years [2] . Since 1980, a member of the Union of Artists of the USSR [2] . He specialized in easel and monumental works, in bronze, wood, stone [3] . In 1999 he graduated from the Rostov State Pedagogical University [2] . In the Southern Federal University she has been teaching sculpture at the Faculty of Fine Arts since 2000, and also since 2010 she has been leading a sculpture workshop [2] . Member of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Arts. Chairman of the Southern Regional Branch of the Russian Academy of Arts. Professor of the Department of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture of the Southern Federal University [2] .

Major Works

  • Monument to Empress Elizabeth Petrovna [3] , work in 2007, a monument erected in Rostov-on-Don in Pokrovsky Square, in front of the Old-Pokrovsky Church as the founder of the city [4] , the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Arts;
  • The sculptural composition "The founders of the fortress of St. Dm. Rostovsky [3] , the work of 2009, done in the style of urban sculpture [5] , for the work received the medal "Worthy" and thanks to the Russian Academy of Arts;
  • The sculptural portrait of the Holy Hierarch Dmitry of Rostov [3] ;
  • The sculptural composition "Gregory and Aksinya in a boat" ;
