Amkino

Amkino ( Amkino Corporation ), a Soviet-American corporation. It was created in July 1922 with the participation of the president of the American Association of Film Companies ( Eng. Motion Pictures Producers and Distributors of America ) and AC Gomberg .

She was involved in the exchange of films between Soviet Russia (USSR) and the USA, as well as the organization of trips of prominent figures of US cinematography to the USSR ( Mary Pickford , Douglas Fairbanks and others) and Soviet filmmakers in the USA ( S. Eisenstein , G. Alexandrov , E. Tisse and other). [1] .

For the period from 1924 to 1939, organized the distribution of more than 160 films of Soviet production [2] . In 1941, she released the documentary film "Russian Land" ( English Russian Soil ).
