Sampo from Lapland is a 1985 Soviet hand-drawn animated film created by director Ephraim Pruzhansky based on the Sampo Loparenok fairy tale by Sakarias Topelius .

Story
One day, a kid named Sampo wanted to climb a mountain, from which his entire country of Lapland is visible. When the kid came home and told his mom about everything, she immediately scolded him and told him to forget about this idea, since it is there that in the snow-capped mountains there lives a huge giant who communicates with monsters, and there is no limit to his evil . Only now the baby was very curious and went to the mountains already at night. In the mountains, he met animals that turned out to be kind, but were afraid of the giant. Also there he was met by evil ghosts of gnomes and other mythical creatures, and then the giant himself, who showed a clear desire to deal with him. And just at that moment, when the baby was with the giant, a magic deer with golden horns jumped up to him, which eventually turned out to be his savior. He brought him home and wished him good luck until he met again.
