Hakan Fidan ( tour: Hakan Fidan , born in 1968 in Ankara ) is a Turkish diplomat, since May 2010 he has been the head of the Turkish National Intelligence Organization (MIT).

After graduating from a Masters in Management and Political Science at the University of Maryland , received his doctorate from Bilkent University. From 1986 to 2001 he served as a non-commissioned officer in the Turkish army . From 2003 to 2007, he led the Organization for the Promotion of Developing Countries. In November 2007, Fidan was appointed Deputy Secretary of State in the Presidium of Ministers. [1] Since May 2010 - head of the Turkish security service. On February 7, 2015, he resigned to run for the Turkish Parliament from the Justice and Development Party . On March 9, 2015, he abandoned his candidacy and returned to his previous position.
In 2009, he participated in secret peace talks with the Kurdish Workers Party (PKK) in Oslo , and also talked with Abdullah Ocalan [2] [3] .
