Description
Small shiny wasps with a brown body. Body length 2.0-2.5 mm; front wing length 2.5-3.0 mm. The first segment of the flagellum (flagellomer I) is 1.7 times longer than its width, the second segment of the flagellum 1.8 times, and the 11th segment of the flagellum 4 times. Antennae attached horizontally on the nose front protrusion. The head from behind passes into a neck-like protrusion covered with bristles. Tegulae are very large, covering the base of the wings. In the front wings there is no stigma, costal and subcostal veins. They have a pronounced sexual dimorphism : the antennae of the males are thin and long, the metasomes have 5 visible segments, and in the female antennae are wide and shorter, the abdomen has 4 segments. Presumably, like other species of its kind, parasitoids, they use the eggs of stick insects ( Phasmatodea ) as hosts. The species was first described in 2012 by American lymphoterologist Professor Lynn S. Kimsey ( Bohart Museum of Entomology , Department of Entomology, University of California , Davis , California , USA ) [1] .
