The philatelic exhibition was located in three institutions of the city of Lodz [1] :

  • collections of honorary and main competitive classes - in the ,
  • collections of young philatelists - in the city House of Culture,
  • foreign and non-competitive expositions - at the Center for the Promotion of Art of the Park named after Senkevich.

Exhibits

Over 1000 collections were evaluated and half of them were selected to participate in the exhibition. Exhibitors were allocated three to five stands; received ten stands in the official class [1] .

A significant number of thematic collections had a political orientation, which was reflected in their names, for example [1] :

  • " Marxism-Leninism is always alive,"
  • “That there never will be war”
  • "We blame fascism, "
  • “Our road to victory” (on the joint struggle of the Soviet and Polish armies in World War II ), etc.

Ten exhibits were dedicated to Leninians , and one of the best collections on this subject was called the collection “Vladimir Ilyich Lenin” by Edmund Kupsky ( Poznan ) [1] .

The best collections of Polish subjects were sent to the 1st World Exhibition of Thematic Philately [1] "Temabelga", which was held at the end of 1975 in Brussels [3] .

The collection of the oldest Polish postman Stanislav Dolinsky, which had previously been awarded gold medals of various exhibitions [1], occupied a prominent place in the class of honor.

The exhibition showed a lot of interesting philatelic materials of the home-made period , letters from Nazi concentration camps , airmail stamps . The collection of Jan Zaborovsky presented modern and ancient stamps and special cancellation marks of Hungary . Of the foreign collections, the exposition of the Soviet philatelist L. L. Kolosov ( Minsk ) on the history of the Belarusian post was of interest [1] .

In November 1975, a postage stamp and block were issued by the Polish Post Office to commemorate the exhibition. The block brand in design repeated the tooth brand and had the same face value - 4.50 zł . A reproduction of the painting “Lodz” by V. Strzheminsky (1893-1952) was used as an image on them. Above was given an inscription in Polish : "Lodz-75. XII All-Polish Philatelic Exhibition ", below -" 25th Anniversary of the Polish Union of Philatelists ". The author of the design of the stamp and block, printed with offset , was the artist Z. Stasik. The circulation of the brand amounted to 2 million, and the block - 700 thousand copies. The issue was accompanied by envelopes of the first day [4] .

In addition, one-sided postcards with the original stamp , postcards and an envelope were issued , and special cancellations were also organized. The catalog of the exhibition [2] [≡] was published .
