Biography
Born September 21, 1921. In 1930 he entered 31st school, two years later in 1932 he was transferred to a school at the St. Petersburg Chapel, in 1936 - to a ten-year school at the Leningrad Conservatory in the clarinet class, which he successfully completed four years later. In June 1940 he entered the orchestra faculty of the conservatory. In the same year, an orchestra composed of conscripts was enrolled in symphonic jazz, and in the autumn as part of an orchestra he was sent to military service in the House of the Red Army in the city of Vyborg.
On November 1, 1941, the orchestra was seconded to the headquarters of the 23rd Army. In March 1942 he was transferred to the service in the brass band at the 291st Infantry Division. In the spring of 1945 he was recalled from the army, in the fall he entered the conducting faculty of the conservatory and was transferred to serve in the song and dance ensemble of the Leningrad Military District. In the summer of 1946 he was demobilized.
Since 1947, he began conducting operas at the opera studio of the conservatory. After graduating with honors from the conservatory (student I.E. Sherman) in June 1950 he was sent to graduate school (graduated in 1953, headed by B. Khaikin ) and was invited to the post of teacher of conducting (1950-1956). He was the conductor of the Leningrad Maly Opera House (1951-1955).
Creativity
From 1953 to 1984 he worked at the Leningrad Opera and Ballet Theater named after S. M. Kirov . After retiring, he continued to conduct until 1992. Over the years of his creative work, he conducted 29 operas and 37 ballets. Conducted ballets of the classical repertoire, including Giselle , Don Quixote , La Bayadere , Raymonda , Swan Lake , Sleeping Beauty , The Nutcracker , Soviet composers Stone Flower , Bakhchisarai Fountain "," The Legend of Love "," Spartak "," Shurale "and others.
He participated in the first productions of the ballets Stone Flower , Choreographic Miniatures (1958), The Bedbug by Otkazov and Firtich (1962), both choreographers L. V. Yakobson , Othello (1960, choreographer V. M. Chabukiani ), "Choreographic short stories" on muses. Tchaikovsky , Prokofiev , Shostakovich , Pulenok , Purcell (1977, choreographer D. A. Bryantsev ) and other ballet television films “Brilliant divertissement”, “Leningrad Symphony”. Conducted ballets and concert programs during the tour of the ballet troupe of the Theater. Kirov in Egypt, Hungary, East Germany, Iran, Poland, Romania, Czechoslovakia, Yugoslavia, Japan, Cuba [2] .
He performed in concerts with the Philharmonic Symphony Orchestras, the V. Andreev Russian Folk Instruments Orchestra, and the Leningrad Radio Pop Orchestra . Since 1982, he taught at the St. Petersburg Conservatory, taught the course "Analysis of opera and ballet scores."
