Biography

Born on November 2, 1893 in Taganrog , in the family of a famous Taganrog doctor, graduate of the Novorossiysk University Isaak Yakovlevich Shamkovich (1860-1941) and obstetrician-gynecologist Sofya Nikolaevna Likhterman (1863-1935). [1] [2] The father of the writer studied in the same class of the Taganrog gymnasium with A. P. Chekhov and sat with him at the same desk. He was twice awarded the title of Hero of Labor, in 1931 and 1936 , was a fellow chairman of the Taganrog Society of Doctors (1912), a member of the board of the Taganrog branch of the All-Russian League for the Fight against Tuberculosis, chairman of the Taganrog Union of Doctors (1916) [3] . The family lived in house number 31 in Italian lane. [four]

After studying at the Taganrog gymnasium, A. Shamkovich entered the law faculty of Kharkov Imperial University , which he graduated in 1916 . A. Shamkovich published his first feuilleton in the Rostov newspaper Priazovsky Krai in 1912. The first book by S. Zvantsev, published in 1939 by the Rostov Book Publishing House , was a large essay on “The Deputy Taganrog” about the famous metallurgist Dygai . For more than 30 years, S. Zvantsev collaborated with the Crocodile magazine. His satirical articles were published in the Literary Newspaper , Don magazine. Volunteer of the Civil and Great Patriotic War . Zvantsev wrote reprises for pop music (some of them were performed in the theater of Arkady Raikin ), plays. The miniatures of S. Zvantsev were included in the satirical magazine “The Wick” (ch. Ed. S. Mikhalkov ). An operetta to the music of the composer A. G. Shaposhnikov “White Night” according to his script was staged on the stage of the Rostov Theater of Musical Comedy. Peru S. Zvantsev owns many stories about the pre-revolutionary Taganrog . The last feuilleton of Sergey Zvantsev was published on March 18, 1973 and was called "Stranger in a hat with a feather."

Family

The son is a famous chess player , international grandmaster Leonid Shamkovich , who emigrated to Israel .
