The Steinz district is a former district in Austria , in the state of Styria .

The judicial district of Steinz until June 30, 2014 included territorial jurisdiction in the district court of Steinz and was subordinate to the higher state court of competent jurisdiction of the federal state of Styria - the land court in Graz . It covered the northern part of the Deutschlandsberg political district and on July 1, 2014, as a result of the reorganization, it was disbanded with the accession to the Deutschlandsberg judicial district . History
In 1849, the decision of the State Judicial Commission on the establishment of the Steinz District was published. The county initially included 38 communities (parishes): Blumegg , Breitenbach , Ettendorf , Gams , Gamsgebirg , Gersdorf , Gießenberg , Grafendorf , Graggerer , Graschuh , Greisdorf , Gundersdorf , Herbersdorf , Kothvogel , Lannach , Nassferdorf , Nassfordsdorf , Lothachfordsdorf , Pichling , Pirkhof , Raßach , Roßegg , Sierling , St. Josef , St. Stefan , Stainz , Stallhof , Teipel , Tobisegg , Trog , Vochera , Wald , Wetzelsdorf , Wieselsdorf , Wildbach and Zirknitz . According to the census of 1846, the territory of the okrug was 239.35 km 2 , the population was 14 414 people. The population density is 60.22 people / km 2 ; land supply taking into account inland waters - 16 605 m 2 / person. [one]
The Steinz judicial district was formed in 1868 when the political and judicial powers were divided [7] and, together with the judicial districts Aibiswald and Deutsch Landsberg, became part of the Deutsch Landsberg political district . [8]
On January 1, 1889, the political community of Wildbach (Styria) ( German: Wildbach ) was removed from the jurisdiction of the Steinz district court and transferred to the judicial district of Deutschlandsberg . [9] [10]
The Steinz district was abolished on July 1, 2014 and included in the territorial jurisdiction of the Deutschlandsberg district .
The official code number for the abolished Steinz district is 6033 .
Composition of the judicial district
The judicial district at the time of its liquidation consisted of 12 political communities : Bad Gams ( German Bad Gams ), Georgsberg ( German Georgsberg ), Greysdorf ( German Greisdorf ), Gundersdorf ( German Gundersdorf ), Lannach ( German Lannach ), Marhof ( German Marhof ), Rassach ( German Rassach ), St. Joseph ( German Sankt Josef ), St. Stefan ob Steinz ( German Sankt Stefan ob Stainz ), Steinz ( German Stainz ), Steinztal ( German . Stainztal ) and Stallhof ( German: Stallhof ), located in the northern part of the political district of Deutschlandsberg .
As a result of the structural reform in Styria, from January 1, 2015, the number of political communities in the abolished Steinz judicial district was reduced to four: Lannach ( German Lannach ), St. Joseph ( German Sankt Josef (Weststeiermark) ), St. Stefan ob Steinz ( German: Sankt Stefan ob Stainz ) and Steinz ( German: Stainz ).
