Biography
Cho Jun Ho was born on December 16, 1988 in Busan . He began to actively engage in judo from early childhood, because his parents were judoists, and the younger brother also subsequently became a judoist. First declared itself in 2008, taking third place in the open championship of Korea in Jeju [1] [2] .
He achieved the first serious success at the international level in 2011 when he got into the main team of the Korean national team and visited the Asian Championship in Abu Dhabi, from where he brought the bronze dignity award won in the semi-lightweight category - he was defeated by the world champion from Japan Junpay Morishita , who eventually became the winner of this Asian championship. In addition, this season he performed at the World Championships in Paris, where he also received a bronze medal - in the quarter-finals he lost to another Japanese Masashi Ebinume , who again became the champion of this world championship [3] .
Thanks to a series of successful performances, Cho was awarded the right to defend the country's honor at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London - Ukrainian Sergey Drebot defeated the semi-lightweight in the opening bout, then dealt with Mirzokhid Farmonov from Uzbekistan, but in the quarterfinal was defeated by longtime rival Masasi Ebinuma and lost his chance. victory in the tournament. Nevertheless, in third-place consolation fights, he beat British Colin Oates and Spanish representative Sugoi Uriarte , thus gaining a bronze Olympic medal.
After the London Olympics, Cho Joon Ho remained in the main line-up of the judo team in South Korea and continued to take part in major international tournaments.
