Biography
November 9, 1778 entered the military service as a soldier of the hussar regiment Esterhazy, January 21, 1781 - Fourier, July 6, 1786 - senior lieutenant-master, May 17, 1789 - standard-bearer of the regiment, June 3, 1790 - junior lieutenant, June 23, 1792 - lieutenant 3rd Hussars, served in the Moselle army. July 1, 1793 - captain, April 14, 1794 - squadron commander, from 1794 to 1797, fought under the command of Colonel Lebrun de La Ussé as part of the Sambro-Maas army, distinguished himself in the battles of Malin, Cambrai and Liege. On April 18, 1797, at the head of his unit, he swims across the River Weed , throws the enemy away from Neuwied , seizes a large number of prisoners, and part of the baggage. When crossing the river of Bliz , the enemy’s artillery at the head of 2 squadrons attacks and creates disorder in the ranks of the Austrian army. During the battle, wounded by a musket bullet. During the retreat from Limburg to Saarbrücken , he commanded the rearguard of the division of General Sazhe, and with his actions during this maneuver he earned the highest praise from the generals and representatives of the people.
In 1798 he was transferred to the English Army, in 1799 as part of the Observation Army of the Rhine, he participated in the expedition against insurgent Belgium, from 1800 he served in the Danube and Rhine armies, from 1801 - in the 1st military district.
March 4, 1803 was summoned to Paris by the Minister of War as a member of the committee on the maneuvers of cavalry, and was also included in the commission on the rules of internal service in cavalry units. August 21, 1803 promoted to colonel, and on September 1 became the commander of the 7th Hussar Regiment. From 1803 he served in the Bruges camp of the Coastal Ocean Army. From August 29, 1805 in the light cavalry brigade of the 3rd Corps of the Great Army . In the Austrian campaign he fought under Mariazell, Afflege, Austerlitz. September 20, 1806, together with the 5th Hussars' Regiment, joined the Light Cavalry Brigade of General Lasall , the future "Infernal Brigade". Fought at Hera, Prenzlau, Stettin, Lübeck, Częstovo and Golymin, December 30, 1806 - Brigadier General.
January 4, 1807 - Commandant of the Cavalry Depot in Leщиchyce, January 14, 1807 - Commandant of the Cavalry Depot of the Reserve Army of Marshal Kellermann in Mainz, May 31, 1807 transferred to the service of the Grand Duchy of Berg and July 31, 1807 headed all the cavalry of the duchy. In 1808, he followed King Murat to Naples, was appointed the latter’s steward and director of the repair depot of the kingdom. After the fall of the Empire, he retired on September 29, 1814 and returned to his homeland. He died on December 14, 1839 in Remirmona at the age of 78.
