Hamzaoglu, Hamza

Hamza Hamzaoglu ( tur. Hamza Hamzaoğlu ; born January 15, 1970 , Komotini , Greece ) - a former Turkish footballer, now a football coach. He spent most of his playing career in the Galatasaray and Istanbulbulsp clubs in Istanbul. From December 2014 to November 2015, he served as the head coach of Galatasaray, which led to the 20th league title.

Play career

Hamza Khamzaoglu began his football career in 1988 at the Izmirspor club, which was then in the Second League . In 1991, he moved to Galatasaray , where he spent 4 seasons. As part of the Istanbul club, Hamzaoglu became the champion of Turkey twice (in the 1992/93 and 1993/94 seasons), and he won the Cup and the Super Bowl of the country in 1993 once. In 1995, he became the player of “ Istanbulspor ”, which he played for the next 4 years. In 1999, Hamzaoglu moved to Siirtspor , a Second League club, with which he achieved an elite league following the results of his first season. Championship 2000/01 Hamzaoglu also held for "Siirtspor", which at the end of the tournament left the First League, and the football player moved to the team of the Second League " Yimpash Yozgatspor ". After another year, Hamzaoglu moved to Konyaspor , for which he scored 10 goals in the First League in the 2002/03 season and helped the team win the league and win promotion to the Super League. After that, Hamzaoglu ended his career as a footballer, playing for Beillerbey , the club of the Third League.

International Career

For the national team of Turkey, Hamza Hamzaoglu held only 1 match, appearing on the field in the guest game of the qualifying tournament of the 1994 World Cup against the national team of Norway [1] . At the 81st minute of the match, he replaced Mehmet Ozdilek .

Coaching career

After completing his professional football career, Hamza Hamzaoglu began his coaching career. In the 2008/09 season, he was appointed head coach of Malataspor , an outsider to the First League. Under his leadership, the team that was experiencing financial problems won only 3 of 15 games (1 draw, 11 losses). In March 2009, he left his post, the next team led by Hamzaoglu became Eupspor , the Second League club, in October of the same year. In the 2010/11 season, he became the coach of Denizlispor , which for a long time was the leader under his leadership in the First League. On February 1, 2011, Hamzaoglu resigned from this position, and on March 1 he became the head coach of another First League club, Akhisar Belediyespor , which was fighting for survival. But already next season , Akhisar Belediyespor, under his leadership, fought for access to the First League, and at the end of the last round, and won the league at all. “Akhisar Belediyespor” entered the main Turkish league for the first time in its history.

For the next 2 years, Hamzaoglu continued to work as head coach of Akhisara Belediyespor, who occupied 14th and 10th places respectively in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons . On December 6, 2014, Hamzaoglu was appointed head coach of Galatasaray [2] . At the end of the 2014/15 season, the Istanbul team, led by Hamzaoglu, scored twice, winning the Championship and the Turkish Cup. On June 13, 2015, he signed a three-year contract with the club [3] .
