Biography
Mark Sammut was born in 1973 in Malta . He is the eldest son of the Maltese writer Frans Sammut . Sammut studied at the St. Monica School, Stella Maris College, Vassalli Lyceum and J. F. Abela Lyceum. He continued his studies at the University of Malta (received a master's and doctorate in law) and at ( University College and the London School of Economics and Political Sciences , University of London (LL.M.).
Sammut worked as a local adviser (1993-96) [1] , member of the Co-operative Council (1997-98), secretary of the Council of Notaries of Malta (2000-03), Honorary Consul of Latvia (2001-06) [2] and president of the Malta Language Association in University of Malta (2007-09).
Sammut conducted political activity in 1993-2003, starting in 1996 in the ranks of the Labor Party of Malta. Since 2014, Mark Sammut has been teaching the history of the Malta Penal Code at the University of Malta. He is a member of the Royal Historical Society and the Maltese Historical Society.

Other publications
Mark Sammut's translation of La Pazza's work by Guze Bonnichi was praised by Professor Charles Briff in his book on Maltese Literature ( Il-Letteratura Maltija: L-Istorja tan-Narrattiva , Malta University Press, 2008). Sammut wrote on the subject of the Municipal Code of Malta and other topics on the history and theory of jurisprudence.
