Naoto Oshima ( Jap. 大 島 直 人 O: Sim Naoto , born January 26, 1964 ) was a Japanese game designer , a former Sega employee who created Sonic and Doctor Robotnik .

After leaving the Sonic Team, he founded the independent company Artoon and is its president until its closure in 2010. The company under his control developed the games Pinobee and Blinx: The Time Sweeper , and in 2004 a sequel to Blinx , Blinx 2: Masters of Time & Space . Since 2010 she has been working at Arzest .
Sometimes he works under the pseudonym Big Island ( Russian. Big Island ), which is a literal translation of his name.
