The building of design organizations is a 24-story [1] building in the center of Arkhangelsk (Address: Lenin Square, 4) . The tallest building in the Arkhangelsk region . The height of the building according to the roof level is 82 m [2] , the height of the highest point of the building above sea level is 173 meters at elevations or 142 meters from the basement to the top of the mast .
History
Previously, a merchant's mansion was located on the site of the building. [3]
The building was built between 1978 and 1983 to mark the 400th anniversary of Arkhangelsk ( 1984 ). In Soviet times, the building housed design organizations and a department for the operation of high-rise buildings. In the 1990s, the building was turned into an office building. The building also houses the radio equipment and studios of most Arkhangelsk radio stations .
By January 1, 2010, multi-colored illumination of the upper part of the building and the mast was installed. [four]
Among the residents of the city, the building has an informal name - “high-rise” [5] , “pencil” [1] , “Candle”.
