Leonid Anatolyevich Ratner (born December 26, 1937 , Kremenchug ) is a Soviet and Ukrainian handball coach, Honored Coach of the USSR , head coach of the Ukrainian women's team [1] .

Graduated from Simferopol State University . In 1959-1962 he played for the Zaporozhayuministroy team. Master of Sport.
In coaching since 1957. In 1972, he helped Semyon Polonsky train the men's team ZMetI. In 1973, he founded the women's handball team of masters, performing under the names ZMetI, ZII, since 1988 - “ Motor ”. He also coached the Slovak clubs - the male Agro (Topolchani) and the female Plastika (Nitra), the women's team Zaporizhia-ZGIA. Honored Coach of Ukraine and the USSR. Referee of the republican category.
Under the leadership of Leonid Ratner, his wards won bronze awards of the championships of the USSR (1977) and the CIS (1992), the Cup of the Soviet Union (1989, 1990), four times - gold medals of the national championships of Ukraine, twice - “silver”.
Over the years, Leonid Anatolyevich led the youth (up to 20 years) and junior (17-18 years) teams of the USSR. Five times (1983, 1985, 1987, 1989, 1991) led the USSR youth team to the gold medals of world championships, Soviet juniors won seven times in international tournaments "Friendship".
In 1992-1996, 2002-2008, 2011-2015, Leonid Ratner was the head coach of the women's national team of Ukraine, led her to the bronze medals of the 2004 Olympic Games, and silver medals of the 2000 European Championship. At the Beijing Olympics in 2008, he was a consultant to the Kazakhstan national team [2] . He is currently a trainer and consultant to the Ukrainian women's handball team. [3]
