Vigalua ( Wigalois , Guy Galois or Lat. Vitus Gallensis ) - a medieval knight , a hero from the literary cycle of King Arthur according to the eponymous work of the German poet Wirnt von Grafenberg (late XII - first half. XIII centuries); character of the times of Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table .
Also known for its coat of arms and headdress under the nickname "Knight with the Wheel ." Gawaine's son, therefore, is the grand-nephew of King Arthur .
Other names
In the oldest version of the tale, the old French poem "The Beautiful Stranger " ("Le Bel Inconnu"; the essay by Reno de God , first published by Hippo, Paris, 1860), from which the later French folk book ("Histoire da Giglain"; Lyon, 1530) and the Mid-English poem Libeaus Desconus (published in the collection Ancient English metrical romances by the English antiquary Ritson , Volume II), the hero bears the name Zhiglen ( lat. Giglain ).
