Very little is known about Mastanabal. According to Titus Livy , Mastanabal, unlike his older brothers, received a Greek education [5] . When, after the death of Massinissa, Scipio Emilian in 149 BC. e. divided the power in Numidia between the three heirs, Mastanabal, "distinguished by justice", received jurisdiction [6] . The date of his death is unknown: in the sources he reports only that the king died of an illness [7] .
Mastanabal had two sons - Yugurt and Gouda .
