The Fourth Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge ( Thai สะพาน มิตรภาพ ไทย - ลาว แห่ง ที่ 4 , Laos. ຂົວ ມິດ ຕະ ພາບ ລາວ - ໄທ ) is a road bridge across the Mekong River that connects the Thai province of Chiang Rai and Huaysai in Laos . The bridge was opened on December 11, 2013 .

Content
Size and location
The length of the bridge is 630 meters (the main span is 480 meters) and the width is 14.7 meters. It is located about 10 kilometers from Amphoe Chang Hong, in the northeastern part of Chiang Rai province, in the northern part of Thailand, and about 12 km from Huaysai , the capital of Bokeu province, in northwest Laos . North of the bridge, a 6-kilometer road connects the bridge with the Lao R3A highway. In the south, a 3-kilometer road connects the bridge with Chan Hong Thoen Highway and 1129 Highway in Thailand.
History
The bridge was co-funded by the governments of Thailand , Laos and China , along with the Asian Development Bank. About 1900 million Thai baht was allocated to the project budget.
On December 12, 2012, the ceremony of joining the two sides of the bridge was held in Huaisay, Laos. A year later, on December 12, 2013, the bridge was officially opened at a ceremony chaired by Princess Mach Chakri Sirindorn. [3]
