Biography
Early years
Parents come from Sukhumi . When Jikia’s mother was pregnant, the family was forced to flee from her hometown due to hostilities in the region [3] . Georgy was born in Moscow, but soon the family moved to Balashikha near Moscow. There, at the age of 6, he started playing football at the Victoria school, while also studying at a secondary school [4] . At the age of 10, he moved to the football school of Perov 's Lokomotiv, where he trained with Yuri Nikolayevich Nikulin [5] and Alexander Viktorovich Antipov [6] .
In 2011, thanks to the connections of Lokomotiv from Perovo and the professional football club Lokomotiv , he signed a professional contract with the club. He played for Lokomotiv-2 , where he received 15,000 rubles a month [5] . In early 2014, for the sake of match practice, Jikia moved to Spartak Nalchik . March 9 in the match against the "SKA-Energy" made his debut in the Championship FNL [7] . In the summer of the same year, he switched to the Dzerzhinsky “Khimik” , the first match for the new club was played on July 6 against the “Wings of the Soviets” [8] . August 22 in the match against the capital "Spartak" for the first time came out in the first team [11] . The head coach of Perm, Hajiyev , spoke of his debut game: “Jikia had a good match. He was tired in his position, did a lot of work. A football player with good potential, it is difficult for him to break into the composition, because Zanev is playing. He had a normal match. ” [12] On April 15, 2016, in the match against Mordovia , he scored his first goal for the club [13] , and in the 2016/17 season, he scored the second goal for Amkar in the match with CSKA.
Spartak (Moscow)
At the end of 2016, it was reported that Jikia could move from Amkar to Spartak Moscow [14] . Also of interest were Kazan Rubin and another unnamed Moscow club. On December 26, Jikia signed a contract with Spartak [15] . The amount of transfer was 150 million rubles [16] . On April 9, in the match against Ufa , he made his debut for a new team [17] . Career in the national team
Jikia had the right to play for the national teams of Russia and Georgia, but in the end he decided to play for the national team of Russia [24] .
| I talked to him 20 times. Jikia was free to come and get a Georgian passport in one day. We had a meeting with the administration of the President of Georgia, and an agreement was reached on this issue. Jikia was supposed to come, but suddenly he called and said that he could not come. He did not set any conditions for us, as they say in the media. Please stop speculating on the subject of Jikia. Just remember the story of Ananidze : a man came and began to play for the national team. Jano put his homeland in the first place [25] .Alexander Iashvili |
FIFA was named one of the three most talented young Russian footballers on the eve of the 2017 Confederations Cup [26] .
