History
Created in 1896 by two brothers Frederick and Camille Chartier (Chartier). At the initial stage of the restaurant, following the concept of the founders - to provide decent food at a reasonable price and good customer service - only boiled beef was served here along with the broth in which it was cooked. Later the menu was replenished with other, also inexpensive dishes. Over time, the restaurant began to differ from other similar establishments with a large carrying capacity.
It is very popular with Parisians and tourists from all over the world. Open 365 days a year. Service stops at 22 o'clock.
The interior of the restaurant still preserves not only the menus, which are still written in purple ink , but also the personal belongings of the regulars who left them in the restaurant as payment for their debt. Also preserved in 1900 and furniture from Tone (Thonet). The service is provided by staff dressed in traditional rondin (tight-fitting black vests with many pockets) and long white aprons.
The restaurant offers traditional French cuisine , but also a wide range of options with unbeatable prices. In the menu: vinaigrette , leek , hard-boiled eggs with mayonnaise , vegetable soup or snails; meat, fish or vegetables, stewed on a slow fire.
