The current street of the Decembrists in the past consisted of three streets.

The oldest site - adjacent to the street defense. Since the 1780s, it has been called the Bura Korova Avenue . Then there was a farm called Molochnya, built in 1782 at the direction of Grand Duchess Maria Fedorovna , the wife of Pavlovsk’s owner, the future Emperor Paul I. The farm contained cows of the red-brown color of the Livonian breed, presented by Empress Catherine II .

The section from Ninth January Street to Zverinitskaya Street appeared no later than 1858 and was then called Zvirinetsky Lane , in the Zvirinets district, in which it is located.

Further, from Lunacharsky Street to the south, Novaya Street went. This name is known from the second half of the XIX century. In the 1890s, Novaya Street was extended north to Zverinitskaya Street.

In 1875, the Brown Cow Avenue was renamed Kazarmenny Lane due to the fact that the barracks of the Horse Artillery Life Guards were located on the opposite side of the modern Defense Street.

Around 1952, Zverinetsky Lane and Novaya Street were united under the common name Dekabristov Street - in honor of the participants in the uprising on Senatskaya Square in St. Petersburg and due to the fact that the street leads to the military town.

In the 1960s, Kazarmenny Lane was attached to Dekabristov Street [1] .

In front of the school on Dekabristov Street, 16, there is a nameless square with a nameless pond. The pond is an object of cultural heritage of regional significance “Water System”, which is part of the Menagerie.
