1st Reserve Aviation Group

1st reserve aviation group - an operational aviation group in the Great Patriotic War , created to solve operational (operational-tactical) tasks independently and as a part of fronts in cooperation with troops (forces) and means of other types of armed forces (military branches (forces)) in operations of the ground forces and naval forces.

Create Group

The 1st Reserve Aviation Group was formed on August 21, 1941 on the basis of the Order of the NPO [1] on the basis of the management of the 9th Mixed Aviation Division . By order of the Air Force No. 0087 dated 08.21.1941, it was prescribed to form an air group consisting of the 215th assault aviation regiment, the 99th short-range bomber regiment, the 217th and 31st fighter aviation regiments. In total, on August 30, the group consisted of 95 aircraft.

Reorganizing a group

The 1st Reserve Group on October 17, 1941 was turned to the formation of the Air Force of the Kalinin Front.
