Biography

Pesochin Mikhail Alexandrovich native of. Aleksandrovka of the Samankovsky district of the Ryazan province (now Sapozhkovsky district of the Ryazan region). Russian. In the Russian Imperial Army from July to October 1917. Private . Member of the First World War and Civil War. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1928. In the Red Army from 08/18/1918.

Military education:

  • in 1921 he graduated from the 1st Simferopol cavalry courses;
  • in 1926 - Borisoglebsko-Leningrad cavalry school;
  • in 1934 - the cavalry KUKS RKKA in the city of Novocherkassk ;
  • in 1944 - advanced courses at the Higher Military Academy. K.E. Voroshilova.

In May 1938 he was sent to the Mongolian People's Republic as a military instructor in the 5th division of the MPRA. In April 1941, Colonel Pesochin M.A. appointed commander of the 799th Infantry Regiment of the 228th Infantry Division of Zhytomyr (KOVO).

At the beginning of World War II, he fought on the South-Western Front . The regiment under his command as part of the 228th Infantry Division participated in the Border Battle northwest of Lviv . Since July 25, 1941, the regiment participated in the Uman defensive operation , was surrounded.

In August 1941 he was appointed commander of the 411th Infantry Division of the Southwestern Front. In the battle of Kharkov, he was wounded and from July 7, 1942 he was cured in a military hospital. Since July 27, he commanded the 131st Infantry Division of the Stalingrad Front. Then, after the division was withdrawn from the reserve from Stalingrad and in the first half of 1943, he commanded the 131st division on the Volkhovsky (consisting of 55 army), and then the Leningrad front. From December 1943 he was studying at the Academy, after graduating in May 1944 he was appointed commander of the 225th Infantry Division .

11.2.1945, during the battle for Schödgau he was seriously wounded in the head. It was operated on, but a splinter damaged both hemispheres of the brain. Colonel Pesochin Mikhail Alexandrovich died of wounds on May 3, 1945 in a military hospital. The body was sent by plane to Lviv, where on 08.06.1945 it was buried at the Lychakiv cemetery in Lviv on the Hill of Glory .

The title of Major General was awarded posthumously (04/06/1955).
