Biography

Born in a family of hereditary educators. Candidate of Philological Sciences (dissertation topic: “Strophic verse and poetic translation (based on the material of Shakespeare’s John Keats sonnets, 1978). He taught the history of foreign literature at Kemerovo State University (1978-1981) and at the Leningrad State Pedagogical Institute named after A.I. Herzen ( 1981–1985, 1991) Author of a number of articles on the history and theory of poetic translation, member of the Writers' Union (St. Petersburg), member of the creative association “Masters of Literary Translation” (Moscow).

The first translation publication was 1968. Author of translations from English, German and other poetry and prose, including from William Shakespeare , William Blake , William Wordsworth , John Keats , Lee Hunt , Johann Wolfgang Goethe , Thomas de Quincy , Kazuo Ishiguro and others .
