The Russian Triathlon Federation (FTR) is the official national governing body for the triathlon, duathlon and winter triathlon, representing Russia in the International Triathlon Union (ITU).

Structure
- 2010 - 12.2016 The President of the RFT is Sergey Bystrov (born April 13, 1957 in the Tver Region). In 2000, Bystrov was the deputy coordinator of the election campaign of Vladimir Putin in the Tver region, from 2001 to 2004 he worked as deputy minister of labor and social development, and since 2004 he has been carrying out various tasks at the Ministry of Transport, including he was in charge of the infrastructure and logistics of the Olympic Games in Sochi [4] .

Olympic Games
Igor Sysoev participated in two Olympic Games in Athens (2004) and Beijing (2008). His wife, Irina Abyssova, was seriously injured during the bicycle stage in Beijing and could not finish the race.

International Competitions in Russia
2019 Sprint Triathlon Championships
On October 28, 2017, on the website of the European Triathlon Union (ETU) , it was announced that Kazan would host the European Championships in Triathlon at the sprint race in 2019. [14] The election of Kazan as the venue became known following a meeting of the European Union Bureau of Triathlon, whose members unanimously elected the capital of Tatarstan as the venue. [15] The meeting was held in Austrian Kitzbühel . The application of Kazan was presented by the Minister of Sports of Tatarstan Vladimir Leonov.

2015 European Cup Finals
For the first time in the history of the triathlon in 2015, the European Cup Final was held in Russia in the city of Sochi. [16] On September 26, 2015, 33 men and 22 women entered the start of the Olympic race. The winners were Dmitry Polyansky with a result of 01:46:09 and Sieburger Lisa with a result of 01:59:05. [17]
