Biography

Born on August 16, 1937 in the city of Kursk . He spent his childhood and youth in the city of Ordzhonikidze (now Vladikavkaz ). In 1961 he graduated from the Moscow Aviation Institute . Since 1955, he went in for parachuting in the aero club of the Moscow Aviation Institute. In 1958-1963 - Member of the USSR national parachuting team. Since February 1961 - test parachutist of the Research Institute of Parachute Engineering . He tested the parachute D-1-5U [2] .

In the Soviet Army since October 1967 - a test parachutist of the military acceptance of the Research Institute of Parachute Engineering. He tested many parachutes and parachute systems for various purposes. In 1957, 1961, 1962, 1963, 1964 and 1965 he participated in the establishment of 14 world parachute records. He made 5615 parachute jumps (2534 of which were test jumps). In 1985, Raevsky was one of the first in the country to be awarded the honorary title of Honored Test Tester of the USSR (badge No. 5). Since November 1990, Lt. Col. Raevsky - in stock. After leaving the army, he continued to work as an engineer in the military acceptance of the Research Institute of Parachute Engineering . Lives in Moscow [2] .
