Biography
Club career
He played for the Belfast team from 1983 to 1987, from 1987 to 1997 he defended the colors of the Malone club. At the provincial level, he represented Ulster [1] .
Team Career
He made his debut on March 5, 1988 in Dublin for the Irish national team in a game against Wales [1] , played 32 games in total and scored 18 points. From 1988 to 1997 he participated in the Five Nations Cup , also played three matches at the 1995 World Cup in South Africa. As part of the rugby-7 team, he played at the first ever World Cup in Hong Kong in 1993 and became a bronze medalist [2] .
Beyond Rugby
He graduated from Queen's University with a degree in mechanical engineering [1] . Engaged in charity work: in June 2015, he organized a charity cycling race [3] .
McBride is currently the principal of Belfast High School.
