Craiova University

Founded as the Higher School of Agriculture in 1947. In 1948, an agricultural institute was created on its basis. In 1951, the Technical Institute arose in Craiova, and in 1959 the Pedagogical Institute.

In 1965, the University of Craiova was established by decision of the Romanian government.

It is housed in the former Palace of Justice of the city in a building built in the neoclassical style.

The university includes 16 faculties, 2 colleges and several research centers:

• Faculty of Engineering and Management of Technological Systems.

Known internationally, thanks to the Universitati football club , the repeated champion of Romania and the holder of the Romanian Football Cup .

The University publishes the scientific journal “Annals of the Craiova University” ( rum. Analele Universitatii din Craiova ), which is part of the scientometric database Scopus .
