Originally called Alexandrinskaya Street . The toponym has been known since 1872, but its etymology is unknown [1] . There was also a variant of Aleksandrovskaya Street [2] .
Around 1919, Aleksandrinskaya Street was renamed Tolmachyova Street - in honor of the participant in the October uprising, N. G. Tolmachyov [1] .
