February 14 - Charles II the Lysy and Louis II the German form their alliance against their third brother, Lothar I, with the famous Strasbourg vows , pronouncing them “in romance” and “in German”. The first words that have reached us are heard in French ( Old French ). The Strasbourg Oath is a division of the Franks empire ^[1] .

Upper Boundary. Disagreement among Banu Kashi. Musa ibn Musa attracts the governors of Zaragoza, Borja and Tudela to rebellion. Following this, Musa leaves for Arnedo , where he seeks the support of Navarra.
After the death of Alfonso II, power in Asturias is disputed by two groups. Count Nepociano, brother-in-law of Alfonso II, is supported by the feudal lords of Alava. Their opponents are supporters of Ramiro, son of Vermudo I. In the battle of Narcea, Nepociano was defeated. The new king was Ramiro I.

The Danes sacked Quentovic (France).
In the year 860, the prince of the Principality of Blatensky (in the area of Lake Balaton) Pribina. Founded its capital Blatengrad.
Byzantine Emperor Michael III The Drunkard (839–867, 24.9), who ruled until 867 . The son of Theophilus and Theodora.
The regent of Byzantium becomes Theodora. The guardians of Michael Theophilus appointed the eunuch Feoktist, Patrician Ward, brother of Theodora, and the master Manuel, Uncle Theodora. The Empress convenes a church council , which deposed Patriarch John Grammatik and finally restored icon veneration .
