In the Zone - the fourth studio album of American singer Britney Spears , released on November 12, 2003 via Jive Records . His music is represented by dance , house , trip-hop and hip-hop styles using instruments such as guitars, drums, synthesizers, string and Middle Eastern musical instruments. Theme of the album: love, dancing, feminism, and in the case of “Touch of My Hand” - sex and masturbation . With the completion of the Dream Within a Dream Tour in July 2002 and after breaking up with Justin Timberlake, Spears planned to take a six-month break in her career; however, work on In the Zone began earlier in November of that year. She wrote songs during an international tour, not yet introducing the concept of a future album. The first recorded song was Touch of My Hand , which, according to Spears, sets the mood for In In Zone. The singer co-authored all the songs except four tracks, and often corrected, edited the lyrics so that they became suitable for her; the effort, as in previous times, to put in an element of autobiography, although not too frank, left its mark on many compositions. The sexual nature of In the Zone emerged from Britney’s subconscious mind “suddenly, from a desire to reveal herself to the public in a new light.”

In the Zone received mainly approving reviews from music critics, who praised him for his bold experimental mix of different styles and the artist’s active participation in the creation of the album. Commercially, In the Zone was successful, debuting on the first line of the charts in France and the United States and peaking in the top 10 in fifteen countries. In November 2001, Spears released her third album, Britney , which raises more provocative themes than the first two records, but its sales (4 million copies in the US) cannot be compared with them [1] [2] . The following year, Britney’s three-year relationship with pop singer Justin Timberlake came to an end after much deliberation [3] .

After the Dream Within a Dream Tour , which ended in July 2002, Spears announced that she would take a six-month break from her career, but in November 2002 announced the next studio album, stating: “Well, actually, I just said I want two or three weeks of rest. For “In the Zone”, Britney invited Bloodshy & Avant , Ar Kelly , Christopher Stewart, Moby , and . She began to write songs during the Dream Within a Dream Tour . At the end of the tour, Spears invited her friend backing singer Annette Artani to her home in Los Angeles , where they wrote piano music and soon afterwards went to Lake Como in Lombardy , Italy - it was work on Everytime , the response song on “ Cry Me A River ”. While in Europe, Spears met with William Orbit and Daft Punk for possible collaboration. Initially, Darkchild and The Neptunes were appointed as producers. When The Hollywood Reporter asked Spears about how the creative process is going and whether the vector of her development as an artist changed, she replied that natural evolution had occurred, adding: “This happens naturally, you must feel every stage of your growing up to be sensitive to changes. within yourself, one way or another coming over the years. Spears pre-introduced several songs to Quaddus Philippe with MTV in May 2003, including “ Touch of My Hand ”, “Brave New Girl” and “ Everytime ”. Christopher Stewart and Penelope Magnet, commonly known as the RedZone team, introduced Britney to the song “Pop Culture Whore”. Subsequently, RedZone worked on several other songs: “Early Mornin '”, recorded backing vocals for “Outrageous” and produced “The Hook Up” [20] .

The Matrix also contributed, but their songs Britney significantly changed, customized them for themselves. Composition

“I have a conviction that when you start to be self-serving and selfish with your music ... you will definitely fail. I did something similar with some of the latest entries and realized the error. " Me Against the Music " was released as the lead single from In the Zone on October 20, 2003 via Jive Records. “Outrageous” was originally prepared as the first single of the label’s choice, but Spears persuaded to change it to “Me Against the Music” [38] . “ Everytime ” was released as the third single from the album on May 17, 2004. Having received a positive rating from critics [49] , it peaked in the top 5 in many countries and reached the top of the charts in Australia, Hungary, Ireland and the UK [41] [50] . In the video, where Spears appears in the role of a star chased by the paparazzi, there are scenes of how she drowns in her bathroom, and blood from a wound on her head spreads across the water, as in a hospital, despite the efforts of doctors, she dies, having time give birth to a child [51] . In November 2003, Barry Weiss told Billboard that In the Zone was promoted globally thanks to print media, media attention, frequent appearances on TV and radio, and the release of awareness videos. In addition, Jive worked with a Karpel Group marketer to sell the album to the gay community . Other marketing efforts consisted in selling LidRock products: for example, after ordering at Sbarro, customers received a cup with an illustration and a CD, bound with Brave New Girl, as well as songs from two other artists. The Onyx Hotel Tour
