Natural arsenates - arsenates , salts of ortho-arsenic acid with various cations ( Ca , Mg , Cu , Pb , Ni , Co , Fe ), found in the form of minerals (about 120 species). Distinguish between simple and double, as well as anhydrous ( mimetesite , olivenite ) and water ( annabergite , erythrin , skorodit ) natural arsenates. They are formed during exogenous processes in the oxidation zone of sulfide deposits in the form of crusts, deposits, etc. Many natural arsenates are indicators of cobalt, nickel, uranium, and lead ores. Some arsenates are themselves used as ores of various metals. It should be remembered that, like all arsenic compounds, all arsenates are poisonous.
