Tournament Format

In this championship, in accordance with the decisions of the All-Russian Football Federation , the format of the tournament was changed. Unlike previous championships, since 7 teams already participated in the men's tournament, the group stage was held in one round, and not in two, as before (the two-round group stage remained in the women's tournament). In the men's tournament in the playoff semi -finals, the winner was previously determined according to the "best in five games" system ( Eng. Best-of-five ), that is, up to three wins - while the results of two matches from the group tournament between these teams were included in the five-match series ; in this championship in the semi-finals the five-match series was replaced by a three-match ( English best-of-three ) to two wins (including the result of the match in the group stage). In the women's tournament for the semi-finals, the previous rules remained (up to three victories in five matches).
