The 8th men's world handball championship was held in the GDR from February 28 to March 10, 1974 . The games were held in Berlin , Chemnitz , Gera , Erfurt , Schwerin , Rostock , Wismar , Brandenburg an der Havel , Halle , Magdeburg and Dessau . The championship was attended by 16 countries. The victory for the fourth time in its history and for the second time in a row was celebrated by the Romanian national team.
