Career
On the international stage, Lappi made his debut in Kuusamo in November 2001 at the continental cup stage. Successfully speaking in it, the Finn got the opportunity to speak in a national group at the World Cup. March 1, 2002 he went to the start of the competition in Lahti and immediately made his way into the top ten, taking eighth place.
At the 2003 World Championships in Italy, Lappi was 12th on the big springboard, and in normal took sixth place. As part of the national team (along with Janne Ahonen , Tami Kiuru and Matti Hautamyaki ) he won the gold medal on the big springboard, becoming the world champion.
Turin Olympics in Artu Lappi missed because of a knee injury. At the first start of the 2006/07 season in Kuusamo, the Finn coped best in bad weather and gusty winds and won, becoming the leader of the World Cup. Lappi lost the lead in the overall standings already at the next stage in Trondheim , where he fell in the first attempt and became only 21st. The 2006/07 season turned out to be the best for Lappi in his career - 15th place in the overall standings and sixth place in the Four Springboard Tour . In February, Artu played for the second time in his career at the World Cup, but in Sapporo he was left without medals (11th and 22nd places in the individual championship and fourth place in the team competition).
Arthu Lappi ended his career after the end of the 2009/10 season .
