Biography
In 1944, he graduated with honors from the Faculty of Chemistry of the Ural State University , from 1944-1947. worked as an engineer at a defense plant of PO Box 356 , led the research group of electrochemists ; He suggested using a high-speed electrochemical method of passivation of brass eyepieces , and for bluing special parts - hardening in nitrate-alkaline melts. Since 1947 V.P. Kochergin - at the Ural State University: assistant, associate professor (1950), professor of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry. In 1967-1987 was dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, in 1962-1995. headed the department of inorganic chemistry.
He died on June 15, 1998 in Yekaterinburg. He was buried at the Shirokorechensky cemetery .
Scientific activity
In the multifaceted scientific activity of V.P. Kochergin, two main directions are distinguished: corrosion of metallic materials in high-temperature molten media and the physical chemistry of high-temperature melts. V.P. Kochergin performed basic research on the mechanism and kinetics of corrosion of metals, steels and alloys in molten aggressive media: hydroxides , halides , carbonates , sulfates , nitrates , borates and phosphates of various metals and their mixtures ; developed conditions for the protection of metallic materials from corrosion in molten electrolytes ; compositions of ionic and polymer salt melts are proposed as compositions for high-temperature metal forming , as well as salt media for the thermal and thermochemical treatment of steels and alloys. The doctrine of the corrosion of metals and alloys in molten and aqueous aggressive environments is presented in more than 500 scientific articles and summarized in a monograph (1991). The results of scientific works of V.P. Kochergin have found application in many domestic enterprises; they are protected by 28 copyright certificates and patents [1] .
Teaching activities
Since 1948, V.P. Kochergin has lectured in general and inorganic chemistry and special disciplines: " Synthesis of inorganic compounds ", "Selected chapters of inorganic chemistry", " Physicochemical analysis of ionic melts", " Thermodynamics of condensed matter ", "High-temperature electrochemistry". Under the scientific supervision of V.P. Kochergin, over 30 master's theses have been prepared and defended.
