Stellan Jun Skarsgård ( Swede Stellan John Skarsgård [ˈstɛlːan ˈskɒːʂɡoːɖ] ; born June 13, 1951 , Gothenburg , Sweden ) is a Swedish film and theater actor, winner of the Berlin Film Festival . One of the most recognized Swedish artists of our time.

Known for many years of collaboration with Danish director Lars von Trier , who shot Skarsgård in five of his films: “ Breaking the Waves ”, “ Dancing in the Dark ”, “ Dogville ”, “ Melancholy ” and “ Nymphomaniac ”. The wide audience is also familiar with roles in Hollywood films, such as Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest , Thor , Avengers , Girl with the Dragon Tattoo , Mamma Mia! Ghosts of Goya .

Biography
Skarsgård gained fame in his youth, thanks to roles on national television. In the period 1972-1988 he played on the stage of the Royal Drama Theater in Stockholm . She has been in films since 1982. For the 1980s film work, he was awarded the prize of the Swedish national film award and the Silver Bear prize at the Berlin Film Festival . In total, he was nominated eleven times for various cinematic awards, five of which he received.
He became famous in Hollywood after his role in the film Phil Kaufman "The Unbearable Lightness of Being " (1988). He played prominent roles in five films by Lars von Trier : “ Breaking the Waves ”, “ Dancing in the Dark ”, “ Dogville ”, “ Melancholy ” and “ Nymphomaniac ”.
To date, starred in more than 120 films and television series.
Personal life
From 1975 to 2007 he was married to a doctor, Mu Gunter, from this marriage he has six children. Four of his sons became actors:
- the eldest Alexander Skarsgård (1976) - starred in the TV series True Blood , Generation of the Killers , and Big Big Lie .
- Gustaf Skarsgård (1980) - known for his role as Knut Ericsson in the movie Arn: Knight Templar and Flocky in the TV series The Vikings .
- Sam Skarsgård (1982).
- Bill Skarsgård (1990) - became famous for the role of the clown Pennywise in the film adaptation of Stephen King’s novel “ It ”.
- Eya Skarsgård (1992) - Model.
- Walter Skarsgård (1995).
He is currently married to Megan Everett, they have two sons:
- Ossian (2009).
- Colbane (2012) [2] .
He lives in his native Sweden, since “taxes are higher there, no one is starving, good health care and free tuition at schools and universities” [3] .
