Biography

In 1979 he graduated from the Lyceum named after Jan Zamoyski in Warsaw . In 1984, he graduated with honors from the Faculty of History at the University of Warsaw , and then continued as an assistant at the Center for the Study of America, University. In 1988-1989 he completed a training course at Indiana University (USA). In 1991 he defended his doctoral dissertation on the subject of Polish-American relations in 1919-1939 [2] . He also graduated from diplomatic studies at the University of Hoover in California. Author of publications on the history of diplomacy and international relations.

In 1991, he began working in the Department of the Americas at the Department of Foreign Affairs . In 1992-1997 - Secretary of the Polish Embassy in Washington, responsible for relations with Congress . He coordinated activities to obtain the support of American congressmen on the issue of Poland's admission to NATO . In 1998 - Deputy Director in the Department of the Americas at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In the same year, after the division of the department, he became the head of the Department of North America. In 2001, he was appointed deputy ambassador of Poland to the United States. From August 11, 2006 to August 31, 2007, he served as the state secretary (deputy minister) in the Ministry of National Defense .

On August 23, 2007, the Seimas Foreign Affairs Committee supported his candidacy for the production of an ambassador and the appointment of Vinid as Polish ambassador to NATO and the EU in Brussels . September 6, 2007 was appointed to this post by the President of Poland Lech Kaczynski . Removed from the post in connection with the appointment to another post by order of August 24, 2011, with the execution of November 14, 2011 [3] . On November 17, 2011, he occupied the post of state secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs [4] , which he held until August 2014. From September 4, 2014 to November 30, 2017, the Permanent Representative of Poland to the United Nations in New York [5] .
