XIX century
House of Princess Volkonskaya
The first owner of the vast estate, located on the modern Mruzovsky and 4th Syromyatnichesky lanes, was the captain of the Life Guards Preobrazhensky regiment Melgunov, who sold it to his sister, Princess Yekaterina Volkonskaya . The prominent Moscow lady and mistress of Sukhanov, near Moscow, was nicknamed “Aunt Warrior” because she had a decisive influence on her nephew, Field Marshal Pyotr Volkonsky , chief of staff of Kutuzov. Oddly enough, many decorative ornaments of the building survived, and the house itself has not changed outwardly. Destroyed a century ago, the terrace is now restored. It stands to the right of the entrance to the Winery, its powerful and restrained center is highlighted by a beautiful portico, and in front of it is an unusual semicircular ledge.
In 1805, the merchant Monin bought the manor house, four years later - Nikifor Prokofiev, who in 1810 opened a honey brewing factory on its territory. At the beginning of 1821, the estate was transferred to the Revelsk merchant of the second guild, Friedrich Danielson, who attached a wing with a two-story brewery and a malt house to the residential building. On the other side of the alley a long building of malt warehouses was erected. In the tympanum of the portico of the main house, you can still see an intricately interlaced monogram of his son Ludwig Friedrichovich surrounded by lush ornaments. Elegant empire decor focused on the garden facade.
In the forties, the factory, the new owners of which were merchants of the first guild, William Watson and Peter Dreyer, was the second largest in Moscow after the Trekhgornaya: it produced beer for 57 thousand rubles a year. In 1855, a huge manor and factory began to belong to the famous "merchant king" Vasily Alexandrovich Kokorev. He became rich in wine farms, went into banking, was one of the pioneers of the Russian oil industry, founded several industrial companies and became one of the richest people in Russia. To the indignation of the authorities, Kokorev also engaged in active social activities, in which, however, he was not allowed to turn around.
Kokorev collected paintings and patronized the arts: the gallery, which he opened in 1861, housed more than 500 paintings, including brushes by Bryullov, Levitsky, Borovikovsky, Kiprensky. Some of them, after the bankruptcy of the owner, were acquired by P. M. Tretyakov. For some time there was a factory of sealing wax, tar and cork N.F. Mamontov, which in 1858 moved to its own building behind the Presnenskaya Zastava, where the production of oil varnishes was established.
Moscow Bavaria
In the middle of the XIX century, the western part of the estate was cut off by the line of the Moscow-Kursk railway . The malt house was on the corner of the newly laid alley and received unexpectedly important urban significance. The brewery occupied the entire north of the estate with its buildings. In the seventies and eighties of the XIX century, the plant was transferred to the possession of the Moscow Bavaria joint stock company (Russian Association of Beer and Honey Production in Moscow) by the brothers Ivan and Kirill Tarusin, owners of the entire Plyushchikha. The plant was equipped with three steam engines with a total capacity of 45 horsepower, was serviced by 70 workers and produced premium beer “Vienna pure number 1” at a price of 1 ruble 60 kopecks bucket. The "Black Velvet" was also famous.
In 1909, part of the estate was acquired by the executives of the honorary citizen Kh.S. Ledentsov, bequeathed his fortune to educational purposes, and the main house was converted to accommodate a four-year urban school there. By that time, the old manor had significantly reduced its area: part of it was cut off by the railway line, and part that went to Yauza was sold to other hands. The head of the houses was I.P. Goloulin, and for many more years this house was called Goloulinsky among the surrounding population, and even the whole area to the Yauza embankment - Goloulinka.
On the contrary, through Khludovsky Lane (now Syromyatnichesky passage, 6), there is a whole complex of charitable institutions associated with the name of Gerasim Ivanovich Khludov. The Yegoryevsky peasants of Khludov were handicraft weavers, the whole family was distinguished by intelligence, enterprise, skill and great hard work. After the death of the founder of the case, Ivan Ivanovich, the sons got 200 thousand rubles, which they allowed to expand production. Soon they were able to start trading in Moscow, and in 1847 they began building a paper spinning mill in Yegoryevsk, which became one of the largest in the Moscow region.
Together with his brother Alexei Gerasim Khludov managed the factory and became one of the richest people in Russia. In 1865, the Khludovs established an office in Liverpool, where they bought raw materials and steam engines, which lasted more than forty years. In 1874, they organized a "Partnership on shares" with a capital of 3 million rubles, and only the owners themselves and their relatives were shareholders. The working day at the factory lasted for 14 hours for adults, for children 9. M.E.Saltykov-Shchedrin was engaged in the case of lawlessness at the Khludov manufactory in the late fifties. On the other hand, the bloodsuckers of Khludov were known as philanthropists and philanthropists. Like Kokorev, Gerasim Khludov collected paintings - in his collection there was a “Legible Bride” by Fedotov, works by Perov, Aivazovsky, Bryullov.
After the early death of his only son, Pavel Khludov donated several hundred thousand rubles and a specially purchased huge piece of land in Syromyatniki for the construction of a charity house for the charity of the poor. After the death of Khludov in 1885, the Merchants Society began to build a large shelter building with a house church according to the project of the architect B.V. Freidenberg. It was opened on May 8, 1888. At that time, 50 women and 30 men were placed there, and in 87 free apartments, 150 widows with orphans.
Khludov’s daughters also did not stand aside from the charity development of Syromyatnikov: Alexandra Naydenova donated funds for the construction of a housing for free apartments, Lyubov Vostryakova for a free public school, Praskovya Prokhorova for separation of the weak and obsessed with ailments, as well as for a free female art school and another building for free apartments (the author of some of the buildings was the famous Lev Kekushev). In Soviet times, Syromyatniki was a large industrial zone and a railway station, slum area.

Criticism
The winery’s leadership was publicly criticized by public organizations and the press in connection with the award of the moral support prize to the artist Ilya Trushevsky [6] [7] [8] . According to the official version of the winery’s leadership, the prize was awarded to “representatives of the art environment who have problems with Russian law enforcement agencies,” however, Trushevsky was the only one of her laureates who was persecuted in connection with actions of a general criminal nature, and not for his social activity and / or shocking artistic gestures. One of the laureates of the award, the ideology of monsters, Artyom Loskutov, according to some sources, refused the award [8] [9] in protest, and representatives of the left-radical Trotskyist group, the Committee for the Workers International and the feminist movement, initiated a boycott and picket of the art center [8] .
