One of the representatives of the Slavophil Party in the Czech Republic . In order to spread the “Slavic idea” , Slovansky sbornik began publishing in 1881, which ceased due to the apparent indifference of Czech society.
In a number of individual works, Jellinek introduces the Czechs to the life of other Slavs ; he published: Črty kozacké, Polské paní a dívky, Slovanské črty, Črty varšavské, Damy starších salonů polskych, and others. His last essay: Honorata z Wišniowskych Zapova was published in 1894. In “Rozprawach” of the philological department of the Krakow Academy of Sciences (v. XIII), Jelinek published a bibliographic list of Czech essays and articles relating to Poland .
