History
Formed by the resolution of the Volgograd Regional Duma of February 20, 1998 No. 74/940. The same decree established the Michurinsky Village Council. The composition of the village council included: the village of Yelshanka and the farm Torpovka , excluded from the administrative subordination of the Ternovsky village council and the newly formed village of Michurinsky [2] .
Physico-geographical characteristics
The village is located in the forest-steppe , within the Volga Upland , which is part of the East European Plain . The height of the center of the village is 112 meters above sea level [3] . Light chestnut soils are widespread in the vicinity of the settlement [4] .
The village is located in the suburban area of Kamyshin . By road, the distance to the center of Kamyshin is 6 km, to the regional center of Volgograd - 200 km, to the city of Saratov - 190 km [5] .
- Climate
The climate is temperate continental (according to the Köppen - Dfa climate classification ). The long-term rainfall is 395 mm. Most precipitation falls in July - 48 mm, the least in March - 22 mm. The average annual temperature is positive and amounts to + 6.9 C, the average temperature of the coldest month of January is -9.6 C, the hottest month of July +22.8 C [3] .
