Biography

Born on August 21, 1913 in the village of Okulikha, now within the city of Puchezh , Ivanovo Region , Russia [2] .

In 1930 he graduated from 9 classes of a school in the city of Yuryevets . After leaving school he moved to Nizhny Novgorod , works at the Krasnoe Sormovo plant. Member of the CPSU (b) since 1932 [2] .

In the Red Army for the special forces of the Gorky Regional Committee of the CPSU (b) since August 1933, he studied at the Orenburg Military Aviation School of Pilots, then transferred to the Kharkov Military Aviation School of Pilots. After graduating from school in November 1936, he served in the Air Force as a pilot of a high-speed bomber squadron, pilot and flight commander of the 39th high-speed bomber regiment (sbap). A participant in the campaign of Soviet troops in Western Belarus in September 1939 as a commander of a link of the 39th sap. He made 6 sorties on the SB bomber . Member of the Soviet-Finnish war : in February-March 1940 - commander of the 39th sap. He made 15 sorties on the SB bomber. He was awarded the Order of the Red Star . He continued to serve in the Air Force as a flight commander and assistant commander of an air squadron of the 39th sap [2] .

With the outbreak of World War II in June 1941, he was an assistant commander of an air squadron of the 39th sap, bombing on a bomber of the Security Council of the German troops crossing near Brest . After the first departure of the squadron, German aviation bombed the airfield of the regiment. The regiment was already transferred without equipment to Smolensk and pilots began to be retrained as Pe-2 bombers, on which Gladkov fought the whole war. Since August 1941 - the commander of the air squadron of the night bomber group with the 3rd reserve bap. He was engaged in training crews on the Pe-2 at night. At the beginning of 1942, nine Pe-2 planes were transferred from Irkutsk to the Bryansk Front . Since February 1942 - commander of an air squadron of the 213th bomber regiment of the 2nd Air Army of the Voronezh Front takes part in the Kharkov battle . On May 26 and 27, 1942, senior lieutenant Gladkov, commanding a squadron, bombed enemy mechanized columns in the Barvenkovo ​​direction (Raisins), for which he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner . Since June 1942 - commander of the squadron of the 138th BAP [2] .

Since January 1943, he served in the Directorate of Combat Training of Bomber Aviation of the Main Directorate of Combat Training of Frontline Air Force of the Red Army. By October 1943, Major Gladkov, an instructor pilot of the Main Directorate of Combat Training of Frontline Aviation of the Red Army Air Force, successfully completed 35 sorties. He perfectly completed the assignment of the command for training personnel of the 1st and 3rd Bomber Aircraft Corps and the 7th SAC with dive bombing. He was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War I degree . In July 1943 he participated in the Battle of Kursk . In October 1944, the senior flight instructor Major Gladkov was awarded the Order of the Patriotic War II degree for 5 sorties in the Lviv operation . In May 1945, Gladkov was awarded the Order of the Red Banner for two combat missions in the East Prussian operation and two combat missions to Berlin . In total, during the war he made 43 sorties on SB, Pe-2 and A-20 Boston bombers [2] .

During the Soviet-Japanese war of 1945 he traveled to the Far East to train the flight personnel of the army [2] .

In 1945-1953, he was a senior inspector pilot and head of a department of the Air Force Bomber Combat Training Directorate, and in 1953-1961, he was deputy chief of combat training for bomber aviation of the Air Force Combat Training Directorate. Since March 1961 - Chairman of the Classification Commission of the Air Force. Since January 1962 - Head of the Combat Training of the Air Force Bomber Aviation. He flew on the Tu-2 , Il-28 and Yak-28 B. In August 1965, Major General Gladkov, among the first in the country, was awarded the honorary title "Honored Military Pilot of the USSR . " During the years of service, he mastered 12 types of aircraft, one of the first to fly on jet bombers . He took part in the development of training methods for pilots, in improving tactics of front-line bomber aviation. Personally, in practical flights he took part in the development and determination of the parameters of anti-aircraft, anti- missile and anti-fighter maneuvers of bombers, their combat dispersal. Since May 1969, Major General Aviation Gladkov - in stock [2] .

He lived in Moscow. He died on May 30, 1991, was buried at the Mitinsky cemetery in Moscow [2] .
