In the first final match on January 5 at Centenario, Olympia won 3-0 with a major guest victory, midfielder Gabriel Gonzalez scored for the Paraguayans, attacking Raul Vicente Amarilla and Adriano Samaniego , respectively, on the 16th, 37th and 79th minutes.
In the second leg, on January 11, at the Defensores del Chaco stadium, the teams split the world, scoring each other 3 goals. First, Uruguayans came forward twice in the first half due to the goals of midfielders Jorge Kardachchio (in the 4th minute) and Hector Moran (in the 31st minute). Olimpia responded with a Samaniego ball in the 26th and Amarilla in the 49th minute, and then in the 69th minute Luis Alberto Monson led the Paraguayans ahead, Nacional with the help of striker Wilson Nunez restored balance in the 79th minute in the match.
The total score for the two meetings is 6: 3 in favor of Olimpia, which became the first non-Argentine club to win the Libertadores Super Cup.
